Reinosa is located in Campoo, the southern plateau of Cantabria, at an altitude of over eight hundred metres in the mountains. A few kilometres away, at Fontibre, the Ebro, the largest river in Spain by flow rate, emerges from a pool just a few paces wide; the city lives on heavy industry and livestock farming.
